Reception: Saturday August 10th, 10:30am – 12pm Coffee and morning snacks will be served. Join us for art and coffee after the Farmer’s Market! All shows are free and open to the public. Leslie Bell founded the Paletteers in Barre, Vermont in 1957. Initially, the Paletteers held extremely popular annual summer art shows and hundreds attended. Like current “pop-up” events; artwork was displayed outside in Barre City Park on a snow fence. Exhibitors had to break down the show each evening and reassemble it in the morning. Artists scrambled to protect their art whenever it started to rain. Since the 1981, the Paletteers have exhibited at select Barre and Montpelier indoor exhibition venues. Many outstanding local artists have been Paletteers members through the years and the T.W. Wood Gallery is pleased to be a part of the Paletteers tradition.
