  1. Northern Saw-whet Owl Public Banding Demonstrations

    October 17, 2018, 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM @ North Branch Nature Center

    October 10, 11, 12, 16, and 20, 7 - 9 pm Join NBNC biologists as we capture, tag, and release these pint-sized owls. After the birds are released, we will discuss the highlights of recent research at NBNC and across the country, and share what’s been discovered about this mysterious little predator. Program will be cancelled in the event of rain or very high winds. Free and open to all ages. Donations to NBNC encouraged. ***RSVP is required*** RSVP opens September 21st.

  2. The Art of Granite Carving, One Sculptor's Career

    October 17, 2018, 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM @ T.W. Wood Gallery at the Center for Arts & Learning

    Vermont Granite artist Eric Oberg will share his knowledge and images about the tools and process of granite carving with time for questions and discussion! Eric Oberg graduated in 1974 from SUNY at Oswego with a B.A. in Art, concentrating on Printmaking. He followed in his grandfather’s footstep’s, becoming a stone carver. Eric has worked with granite stone carving for over 40 years. Come to learn more about the art of carving granite and see images of his work.
