  1. "Winged Warbler" Quest

    Blue-winged and Golden-Winged Warblers rank among the most elusive and threatened nesting warblers in the northeast. They flummox ornithologists with hybrid wardrobes and confound birders with mismatched songs. This adventure with NBNC birding experts brings us to tangles, thickets, wetlands, and woodlands on a quest to decipher and demystify these enchanting and spunky songbirds. Meeting location TBD.

  2. Green Mountain Youth Symphony Auditions

    June 2, 2018, 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM @ Center for Arts & Learning

    Come play with us! The Green Mountain Youth Symphony (GMYS) is holding auditions for summer and fall placement in all three orchestras and CAMP. Auditions will be heard on Saturdays May 5, May 19 & June 2 in Montpelier. We have open seats for musicians novice through advanced next fall. Registration is also open for the GMYS Creative Arts & Music Program (CAMP) for intermediate – advanced music students. CAMP will be held at Northern Vermont University-Johnson August 5-11 this year. Students of all orchestral instruments, all ages, and all levels are invited to join the fun and challenging environment of GMYS. Placement in the orchestras and CAMP is by audition only.     Urinetown – Terrible title - Great musical! Think Monty Python meets Les Mis. A fresh witty musical satire exploring greed, corruption, love and revolution. Laugh Out Loud Funny, the show imagines a world where, after a 20-year drought, water & “water-closets” are controlled by a private mega-corporation which bribes police & politicians to enforce its rules. Leading you thru an adventure complete with heroes, heartache, & hilarity are Officers Lockstock & Barrell and sidekick Little Sally. Even more relevant now when then first produced in 2000.
