    Weekly trips to birding hot spots around Montpelier searching for spring migrants like warblers, vireos, thrushes, and waterfowl. Led by NBNC’s expert birders. Free for members. $10 non-members.   2. All Species Day

    May 5, 2019, 12:00 PM - 3:30 PM @ Begins at Noon Hubbard Park, Soccerfield, 1:00 pm Parade Line-up Hubbard Park – Main Gate Winter Street Entrance Parade to State House via Spring, Main Streets. 2:30pm Birth of Spring Pageant, State House

    The Annual All Species Day Parade has been happening in Montpelier since 1989. It is a joyful community celebration honoring our place in the web of life, celebrating life’s diversity. Everyone is invited to participate, dressed as your favorite species. Several theatrical performances involving large-scale puppetry, song and dance, celebrating our relationship to the Earth and heralding the coming of spring.   5. Mighty Long Way: Montpelier Community Gospel Choir in concert

    Performing gospel music from and inspired by the African-American tradition. This secular community choir, with members from across central and northern Vermont, strives to celebrate and honor gospel’s rich native choral heritage, and its power to move people spiritually and to create a profound sense of community.
