July 3rd Parade

Whether you’re marching or watching, the July 3rd Parade is Montpelier’s must-see event of the year! 

Parade Competition

Parade Participants are invited to compete in the Union Mutual July 3rd Parade Competition. Competitors are challenged to create patriotic floats, costumes, decorations that wow the crowd. Show off your artistic and performance talents through music, dancing, puppeteers, clowns, cyclist, gymnasts -- whatever your talent, we want to see it!  $1,000 in prizes will be awarded: $500 for the grand prize, $300 for the runner up, and $200 for third place.

Parade Route

The July 3rd Parade starts at the Spring Street roundabout, travels down Main Street and State Street in front of the State House, ending near 133 State Sreet. Parade viewing is best on Main Street and State Street. This year vendors will be located on the DMV side of State Street only. Parade viewing will be great from the State House side of the street.

4 Montpelier SSN 765 Support Committee

It has been a tradition for many years to have some of the crew of the USS Montpelier (SSN 765) travel to Vermont to participate in Montpelier's Fourth of July activities. It's an honor to have them travel all the way up from Norfolk, VA this year to spend time with the people of their namesake city. Please welcome CDR Pittman, LCDR Dolan and the crew from the USS Montpelier to our beautiful little State of Vermont.

5 40th Marching Band

"Vermont's Own 40th Army Band is comprised of everyday Vermonters. They will be performing tomorrow night at Smugglers Notch's July 4th celebration starting at 8pm. To find out more about the 40th Army Band and the Vermont National Guard talk to your local recruiter."

6 VT Army National Guard

The VT Army National Guard performs a dual mission. Our state mission involves providing community support and disaster relief in the event of a state emergency. The federal mission involves the National Guard in support of the active Army during a National emergency. Find us on VTGUARD.com

8 Miss USA - Vermont, Miss Teen USA - Vermont

Here are the reigning Miss Vermont USA and Miss Vermont Teen USA 2022, Kelsey and Kenzie Golonka from Montpelier! For the first time in the 70 year pageant history, actual sisters were crowned to represent Vermont at the Miss USA and Miss Teen USA national pageants the same year. These ladies will be representing Vermont later this year.

9 Vermont Roller Derby

Roller Derby is happening in Vermont. Vermont Roller Derby skaters are from a diverse background and enjoy skating. Skaters are varying in skill and love to learn and improve on their skills. There is a good group of us skating and enjoy roller derby. Its great fun and a great way to meet new people.

10 Welch for Vermont (Congressman Peter Welch)

Rep. Peter Welch has represented Vermonters in Congress since 2007 and believes strongly that the cost of the war must include the cost of caring for the warrior when they return home. The Worcester Historical Society is here to let you know that we're bringing back Worcester's traditional Fourth of July festivities tomorrow, starting at 11:00 with our parade celebrating "An Old-Fashioned Fourth of July." Then we'll gather at Ladd Field for lots of good food, games and activities for children and families, a song circle, an ice cream social at the church, and an open house at the Historical Society 10-4. Don't miss our famous Duck Race at 3:00, and our classic "Worcester Voices" performance at the Village Cemetery at 4:00. There will be more food vending in the evening, along with a great band - Legend - performing from 7 till 9. And it will all be capped off with the best fireworks anywhere, as it gets dark! We hope you'll join us.

We are a small but vibrant group and have been active for about 4 decades since the early 80s. We will perform at this parade one of the traditional Philippine folk dances with music called Itik-Itik.

24 Central Vermont Little League

Central Vermont Little League is composed of the towns of Berlin, Cabot, Calais, East Montpelier, Marshfield, Middlesex, Montpelier, Plainfield and Worcester. Little League is for all kids age 4 to age 12 and provides the opportunity to play baseball and softball. These players here today represent our league as this year's All Star teams across three levels of play. Our 10-12 year old players last year won the District tournament and advanced to the State tournament. Hope to see these players in Williamsport in August!

31 Girl Scouts Troop # 30228 (Waterbury, VT)

Girl Scouts Troop 30228 is a multi-level troop with girls from the Waterbury, VT area. Our troop is made up of girls from grades 2nd through 8th. In addition to doing fun activities, this past year we have helped our community through raising money for the local homeless shelter, collecting donations for the food shelf and humane society, and making homemade Valentine cards for the senior center.

We are Central Vermont’s outdoor recreation experts, an eclectic and fun group of active, outdoor-loving folks seeking healthier, happier, and more eco-friendly ways to live our lives. We recognize that our shop’s success is tied to the well-being of our Green Mountain landscape and our Central Vermont community. We open doors to the outdoors by supporting all ages and abilities to pursue outdoor activities. We believe that when consumers support local business and local business supports the community, we all win.

33 Kellogg-Hubbard Library

The Kellogg-Hubbard Library is back this year with all-new new book-cart drills. On Friday nights after the Library closes and the Librarians really want to kick back and relax, they spend some time practicing precision drills and having speed shelving competitions. A little of that extreme athleticism is on display today. Additionally they have participants from the Summer Reading Program walking with them. The Summer Reading theme is Oceans of Possibilities and there are programs, prizes and challenges all summer long.

34 Christina Nolan US Senate Campaign

Christina Nolan will be our next U.S. Senator. Christina has already cleaned up the state for you, serving as Vermont's U.S. Attorney cracking down on the statewide opioids crises. Now she is going to use her law enforcement background to serve Vermont in the Senate.

As a member of the Education committee, he has advocated for the installation of ventilation systems in Vermont schools with Federal Covid relief funds, worked to provide substantial support to After School programming, and developed a more equitable pupil weighting system for students with distinctive needs.

The Vermont Mountaineer Baseball team is a member of the New England Collegiate Baseball League. Over the past twenty seasons, hundreds of collegiate players from all over the U.S. have come to Montpelier to improve their skills playing summer baseball, and furthering their dreams of playing in the major leagues. We have won three championships and look forward to another successful year providing the Central Vermont area topnotch baseball and entertainment at Montpelier's Recreational Field.

The Central VT Pioneers are folks who love to play hockey and are a sled hockey team made up of Vermonters with physical disabilities. Most of us have some type of physical disability that makes sitting in a hockey sled the only way we can play this sport. This year, we won the New England Sled Hockey Tournament in Springfield, Mass. and recently competed in the National Sled Hockey Tournament.
