2024 Family Fest on the Statehouse Lawn

Join us on the State House lawn for great family entertainment (for all ages) from 3-5pm!

Get some delicious food, get your face painted, and more from the 40+ vendors on State Street.

3 - 5 pm - Bouncy Houses , sponsored by Capital Community Church

3 - 5 pm - Meet and Greet Miss Vermont and Miss Teen Vermont

3 - 5 pm - Community Mural Project with T. W. Wood Art Gallery - Join artist Sabrina Fadial, director of @T.W. Wood Gallery: A Museum of American Art as we create a mural for the Montpelier Transit Center. It will be made up of panels totaling 24’ wide x 8’ high and be worked as paint by numbers to create the mural. The mural design (created earlier by campers at TW Wood Camp) will draw inspiration from WPA muralists such as Willem de Kooning, Ilya Bolotowsky, Ben Shahn, and Arshile Gorky.

3 - 5pm - Kids' Games with Let's Grow Kids, including Legos, Connect 4 and other kids activities.

3:15 - 4pm - Big Nazo and the Providence Drum Troupe - BIG NAZO LAB is an international , larger-than-life-sized performance group  and Creature-making studio based in Providence, RI that employs  a variety of mask and  puppet performance techniques  to  create innovative, unusual characters & situations. Their shows & audience interactive strolls feature giant go-go dancing monsters, mischievous mountain trolls, bizarre extra-terrestrials, and hilarious human-animal hybrids who take turns invading stages and street corners  while Intergalactic Zoo-Keepers and Mad Scientists weave cosmic tales of ridiculous wonder. 

4:10 - 4:45pm Umlaut - Umlaut features polk rock accordion Wunderkind Jüppchen von Umlaut, with brothers Fritz on vocals and guitar and Günther on vocals and cello. 

5 - 5:45pm - Capital City Band - local musicians play in front of the Supreme Court building. Their weekly concert season on the Vermont College Green starts on June 12 and runs through August 14, from 7-8pm.
