  3. Slime Mold Field Walk

The slime molds are fruiting! These tiny predators hunt like amoebas, fruit like mushrooms, and come in a wide array of (astonishingly tiny) shapes and vibrant colors. Join Shelby Perry on a field exploration to learn the basic life cycle of slime molds, find and identify a handful of common local species, and learn a bunch of neat new vocabulary words like plasmodium, columella, aethalium, and plasmodiocarp. It will be less slimy --and more fun-- than you think!
