Hepcat, 6A State St, Montpelier

Montpelier Alive is excited to host Cultivating Entrepreneurship, a dynamic new workshop designed to support the next wave of downtown Montpelier business owners. Whether you’ve been dreaming of opening a shop, launching a new service, or just want to explore the possibilities, this event is for you.

Taking place on Tuesday, May 28th at 6:30 PM at Hepcat (6A State Street), the evening will center around inspiration, connection, and real-world guidance. The event is specifically geared toward individuals interested in launching a business in Montpelier’s vibrant downtown district.

Attendees will hear firsthand from successful local entrepreneurs, including Chris Gleason of Hepcat, and Kelly Sullivan and Maddie Miller of Splash. These business owners will share their stories, lessons learned, and creative approaches to building sustainable, community-rooted businesses, especially in challenging times.

The evening will include:

  • Facilitated discussions on starting and scaling a business in Montpelier.

  • Insights into available resources and mentorship opportunities.

  • Idea-sharing and Q&A sessions.

  • Light refreshments and casual networking.

“This event is about listening, learning, and working together,” says Katie Trautz, Executive Director of Montpelier Alive. “Montpelier is home to some of Vermont’s most passionate and creative business owners. We want to ensure that emerging entrepreneurs feel supported, inspired, and empowered to make their ideas a reality right here.”
