Monthly Circle Sing
7:00pm-8:45pm Monthly Circle SingWe gather once a month in the Taplin Room, Christ Church, 64 State St. (*usually on the second Monday* subject to change. please confirm with the organizer.) Dive into collaborative vocal magic with your neighbors. New folks are always welcome. What is "Circle Singing?" In a super supportive, playful, and judgment-free space, you're invited to explore singing the music of the moment. Together we interweave musical patterns, rhythms, harmonies, melodies, movement, words, percussive sounds, and come out with a lot of joy and aliveness. In the traditions of Bobby McFerrin, Rhiannon, Zuza Gonçalves, and others, we co-create the songs we need to sing and share. Our listening, trust and willingness to share our imperfect voices leads us through a little vulnerability and into music and connection that deeply feeds our hearts and souls. Feel free to reach out with questions at [email protected] — I’m happy to share more about what to expect. RSVP to [email protected]. Payment of $20-$40 can be sent via Venmo (@David-Ruffin-Voice) or in cash at the event. While payment at the time of RSVPing is not required, it is much appreciated and guarantees your spot. Come on out and make some beauty!

As the students and newcomer Eleanor band together against the power-hungry Principal, they confront their own hopes, fears and inner demons. The Hub is thrilled to produce yet another student-centered musical as a benefit event for our growing organization. Kianna is more than excited to bring the work of music composer and lyricist Bonnie Gleicher to our area and thrilled to announce that Bonnie will be visiting Montpelier to partake in show week. In addition, the Hub is welcoming professional artist Tommy Bergeron, a South Burlington native to Montpelier for a month to work on this project as Music Director and Accompanist. Also involved in this production are our very own Sierra Norford as Choreographer and board member Joe Sanguinetti as the Tech Director. The cast comprises eight highly talented local teens from schools across the area. Join us for a night of laughs and new things!

Let's talk about trees
5:00pm-7:00pm Let's talk about treesLet’s talk to the trees The trees in downtown Montpelier have so much to say…if only we can listen. John Snell, who has enjoyed his conversations with trees for the fifty years he has lived here, will lead an informal gathering of folks who want to learn more about the trees. While identifying the species is important, so are many other things like how they are planted in a sidewalk, what kind of flowers and seeds do they produce, how old are they and how long might they live. Bring all your questions and concerns and we’ll find out what the trees have to tell us. We’ll meet in front of City Hall at 5:00 and wander around a few blocks as the trees move us. All ages and physical abilities welcome and if you miss us at City Hall at 5:00, no worries, just catch up wherever you see us until about 7:00.
