On Friday, June 5th, Vermont Natural Resources Council (VNRC) is hosting an opening reception for our newest exhibit, “Green Mountain Living in Pastel” from artist Marianne Nealy of Colchester. Marianne’s exhibit reflects on thirty years of living and growing with the medium of pastel, and she will join us to chat about the technique and inspiration behind her work with pastel.

During Art Walk, Artisans Hand is excited to feature the work of Northfield illustrator Hilary Glass. She'll share her whimsical creatures, both real and imagined. Her narrative works explore how these creatures relate to the world.

Kianna is not just the driving force behind the Hub. She is a professional theater artist who has spent her career in and around performing arts spaces. On June 10th, she takes center stage to do what she does best: perform.

John Snell, who has enjoyed his conversations with trees for the fifty years he has lived here, will lead an informal gathering of folks who want to learn more about the trees. While identifying the species is important, so are many other things like how they are planted in a sidewalk, what kind of flowers and seeds do they produce, how old are they and how long might they live. Bring all your questions and concerns and we’ll find out what the trees have to tell us. We’ll meet in front of City Hall at 5:00 and wander around a few blocks as the trees move us.   ...

Through curated music, guided intention, and deep presence, we’ll explore how emotion lives in the body and how movement can help us express, transform, and free it.

The playlist will move like a wave—building, cresting, and softening—supporting us through cycles of grounding, expansion, and stillness. More than just movement, this is a practice of embodied awareness, an invitation to reconnect with our innate wisdom and the ancient ways our ancestors used rhythm to heal, remember, and celebrate life.
