This year's Summer exhibition at the Vermont Supreme Court Gallery opens with, SPACES AND PLACES –Pictorial Interpretations by 3 visionary artists - encompasses artistic approaches which range from the representational to the abstract, from documentary to conceptual. The selection of works reflects the diverse ways these Vermont artists engage space and place to explore questions of acceptance, memory, environments, family, gender, history, power, spirituality, nostalgia, anxiety, or desire. Featuring paintings by artists: Anne Davis, Jamie Rauchman and James Secor. This exceptional trio of artists explores and creates realms beyond the ordinary physical world to encompass “landscapes of the imagination” which reveal inner realities and transcend our everyday lives. Free and open to the Public. Refreshments and Food Served. The exhibition is on view from July 7 – September 30. The next Montpelier Art Walk is coming up on August 1, from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. This event is a fantastic way to get a taste of the local art scene in our sweet city. Artisans Hand is featuring Jeff and Ellen Falsgraf of Vermont Spoon. The two artisans handcraft spoons out of locally sourced hardwoods in their Richmond, Vermont studio. They create a variety of cooking and eating spoons, as well as other kitchen utensils such as spatulas. Jeff will show how to finish-carve and shape with a knife, while Ellen will be sanding and raising the grain, and demonstrating the oiling process. Montpelier's August Art Walk lands on the final day of Make TV & Film Camp's second session, and we're celebrating with a special screening of the campers' work! We're showcasing the creative projects made during camp. Local filmmaker, Lukas Huffman, will also screen a short documentary about a sustainability high school class in NYC and lead a Q&A with our young filmmakers. Please join us for an evening celebrating our summer art exhibit, Light & Shadow: Botanical Dualities by Katama Murray. Browse the gallery, meet the artist, and enjoy some light refreshments. Katama will give a short artist talk at 5:30 pm. A portion of artwork sales will support NBNC. This show features a collection of multidisciplinary cyanotype prints and poems inspired by seasonal plant species and elements of nature. Using this photographic printmaking process, each print on paper and fabric is created using the chemistry of natural sunlight, water, and time, thus transforming shapes and textures into a memory that is tied to time and place.

The concert will feature popular songs from Joni Mitchell and the Beatles, classic jazz standards, and a collection of recently composed contemporary Gospel songs. Chateau De La Morte 2025 Advance Summer Performance Camp by Maren Langdon Spillane music by Savannah Yates story devised by 2025 Play Creation and Performance Camp It's 1984 and the the Stanley family has had a major success. After selling their new computer software program to IBM, they celebrate by purchasing an ancient castle in France believed to have been their ancestral home. They soon discover that both the castle and their family history have some dark secrets. Chateau De La Morte is an original play written by Maren Langdon Spillane with original music by Savannah Yates devised as a part of Dirt Road Theater's 2025 Play Creation and Performance class including: Eli Askew, Tarin Askew, Norah Bissonnette, Quinn Bright, Molly Carpenter, Elena Guadagno, Max McCusker, Emma McCusker, Siobhan Murman, Naomi Peterson, Case Phinney, Maddie Reisner, Emmett Stowell, and Helen Warshofsky. Please join us for an evening celebrating our summer art exhibit, Light & Shadow: Botanical Dualities by Katama Murray. Browse the gallery, meet the artist, and enjoy some light refreshments. Katama will give a short artist talk at 5:30 pm. A portion of artwork sales will support NBNC.

This show features a collection of multidisciplinary cyanotype prints and poems inspired by seasonal plant species and elements of nature. Using this photographic printmaking process, each print on paper and fabric is created using the chemistry of natural sunlight, water, and time, thus transforming shapes and textures into a memory that is tied to time and place.

This month and the last ride of the summer, join AARP members and other age 50+ bikers for a gravel road ride to Red Hen Bakery for a creemie! (5 miles each way with a few hills, 10 miles RT!).

The bike ride will be about 45 - 60 minutes each way at an easy pace with a creemie stop in the middle. This event is rain or shine.
