Marjorie Kramer Paintings - Then and Now Opening Reception: Friday, July 3, 4-7pm Talk by Sam Thurston on artist-run galleries: Saturday, July 26, 4pm Exhibition Dates: July 3 – August 2, 2026 The Front Gallery 6 Barre St, Montpelier, VT Gallery Hours: Friday 4-7, Saturday and Sunday 11-5 Marjorie Kramer exhibits a selection of work from 50 years of painting, at the Front Gallery at 6 Barre Street in Montpelier, Vermont, opening Friday, July 3rd from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. Come and meet the artist. Kramer’s paintings draw on a vitality or ‘spirit resonance’ palpable to the viewer that comes from working directly from life. She will show landscapes, flowers, portraits and still lives. Ms. Kramer started her artistic life in New York City. She earned her BFA at Cooper Union and was a founding student of the New York Studio School. She moved to Vermont in her early 30s where she raised a family and continued to paint what was important to her.

This Tony-Winning Musical from the Giant of Musical Theater (Stephen Sondheim) has The Brothers Grimm tales colliding on stage in an epic adventure of wishes and the choices we make! Director Kianna Bromley reimagines this journey into the woods as a fun 10-actor casting showcasing physical acting, improv, quick changes, and soaring vocals! Recommended for ages 12 & up. (Act 1 is all ages friendly, but Act 2 takes a turn!) Masks are encouraged, not required. (LNT’s State of the Art Bio-Defense Air Purification “Synexis” System is keeping everyone as safe as possible.) Move Together is a 60-minute family ecstatic dance experience designed for elementary-age kids and the grownups who love them. No instruction, no choreography, just music, movement, and the magic that happens when we let our bodies lead. We open with a welcome circle to land together, then ride a 40-minute musical journey through world rhythms and playful pop: the playlist follows a wave, building energy, finding flow, and dancing it all the way out before settling into something quieter and still. Expect some dance party vibes. Expect joy. Stick around after for a little connection time before heading back into the world. All bodies welcome. No experience needed. Just show up ready to move.

All members of the community, of all ages, are welcome to this community grief ritual. This is a time to remember that people who can hold the depth of grief together also have a greater capacity for resilience together. The ritual will be held entirely outside, with access to NBNC’s outdoor porta-potty. In case of rain, we will gather under one of the outdoor tents. The event is free, with no registration required. Offered by The Grief Space Vermont. Thank you to North Branch Nature Center for generously donating the use of the land.

A lively, engaging introduction to birth — way more fun than a book or video. This 2.5-hour class covers the essentials: stages and phases of labor, anatomy and physiology of birth, the fear-pain cycle, communication and advocating for yourself, possible interventions, immediate postpartum choices, and breast/chestfeeding basics. Bring your support person and leave feeling genuinely prepared — mentally, physically, and emotionally. A great standalone class or starting point for further birth prep. Open to anyone planning a home, birth center, or hospital birth.

We gather once a month in the Taplin Room, Christ Church, 64 State St.  *usually on the second Monday* from 7-8:45pm(subject to change. please confirm with the organizer.) Dive into collaborative vocal magic with your neighbors. New folks are always welcome. What is "Circle Singing?" In a super supportive, playful, and judgment-free space, you're invited to explore singing the music of the moment. Together we interweave musical patterns, rhythms, harmonies, melodies, movement, words, percussive sounds, and come out with a lot of joy and aliveness. In the traditions of Bobby McFerrin, Rhiannon, Zuza Gonçalves, and others, we co-create the songs we need to sing and share. Our listening, trust and willingness to share our imperfect voices leads us through a little vulnerability and into music and connection that deeply feeds our hearts and souls.
