Brown Bag Summer Concert Series - 2025

The Hunger Mountain Co-op Brown Bag Lunch Concert Series returns for summer 2025, bringing free, live music to the heart of downtown Montpelier. Hosted by Monteverdi Music School, this beloved series showcases a diverse mix of artists and genres, creating a lively midday gathering for the community. Join us Wednesdays from July 9th to September 10th, 12–1 pm at the Christ Church Courtyard for another season of great music and community spirit!

Announcing the Summer 2025 Lineup!

July 9th

New Lost Nation String Band: New Lost Nation is an old-time string band that has emerged out of the vibrant traditional music scene of Central Vermont. The line-up features Dana Robinson on fiddle, Grant Marolf on banjo, Susan Robinson on guitar, and Neal McNaughton on bass. New Lost Nation's sound is distinctly Southern-Appalachian, and inspired by the Round Peak style in North Carolina, as well as the deep well of old-time fiddle tunes and traditional songs from throughout North America. 

July 16th

Get Up With It: Jazz Fusion Funk band featuring Raz Moshe on sax, Keith Gibson on drums, Emily Lanxner on steel drums, and Callum Robechek on bass.

July 23rd

Noah Young Trio: The Noah Young Trio is led by bassist and composer Noah Young and features Max Bronstein and Andy Gagnon. Young, a founding member of the acclaimed jazz/funk band Naughty Professor, is one of New Orleans’ most in-demand musicians. Known for his genre-blending sound of funk, jazz, and fusion with deep New Orleans roots, Young brings a bold, original voice to the stage. 

July 30th

Trad Music Day with Summit School: Join Joanne Garten and friends as they bring fantastic Old Time and Traditional music from our local young and less-young players!

August 6th

Festival of Creative Pianists: Pianists from all over the country are in town for the Festival of Creative Pianists right here in Montpelier! Join us to hear some selections from accomplished pianists of all genres.

August 13th

Monteverdi Youth Showcase: Youth music teacher, piano and viola player, director of Green Mountain Youth Symphony, and all around awesome Montpelier resident Erin Eberhardt leads this fun youth showcase with everything from classical piano to freshly written original songs by our area’s small musicians!
