Celebrate New Year’s Eve in Downtown Montpelier
Montpelier's cozy and walkable downtown offers something for everyone to celebrate the end of a challenging year and launch into a brighter 2024! Free movie at the Savoy starts at noon, and music, performances, dance, and food for all ages, through midnight. Check out what's happening downtown!
Shidaa Projects Inc. along with with Lost Nation Theater provide a Free New Year’s Eve celebration for the whole family from noon - 8:30 pm! Listen to popular local bands and join in children’s activities at several downtown venues throughout the afternoon, with a culminating performance featuring the Shidaa Dance and Drum Troupe and Lost Nation Theater cast at City Hall.
All Brains Belong hosts a virtual New Year's Eve Celebration from 5-7:30pm ET. The event offers activities for all ages, including live performances by Rajnii Eddins, Poppi’s Planet, and Todd Gevry. Tickets by donation at https://allbrainsbelong.org/new-years
Barr Hill features live music from Django Soulo from 6-8pm, and DJ Satta Sound from 8pm-midnight ringing in the new year with some great dance tunes. Fixings include a full raw bar and some other fun small plates for purchase along with amazing holiday cocktails and all your fav's and a midnight sparkling toast with local donuts VT. Bent Nail Bistro hosts The 2023 Goodbye to the Dumpster, Fire of a Year Party" starting at 9:00 pm. Our New Year’s Eve bash promises an unforgettable night filled with live music, delectable bites, and an electric atmosphere. The stage will be set ablaze by the sensational Ball Droppers, also known as The Nailers, ensuring that the dance floor stays alive until the stroke of midnight.
BIPOC Affinity Space and LGBTQIA+ inclusive event - 8pm - 1 am at Woodbelly Pizza. The event includes music, access to community wellness tables, and pizza for everyone. Dancing and wellness practitioners will be on hand for consultations and services (including acupuncture, chair massage, and tabling for other holistic wellness).

Langdon Street Tavern - Live music starting at 10:30pm with the Returnables!
Montpelier Chamber Orchestra - 7pm - 9pm, Join musicians for an intimate evening of chamber music. A horn sextet, a woodwind quintet, a string quartet… Let us ease you into the new year from the acoustically vibrant sanctuary at the Unitarian Church in Montpelier. This concert is free of charge, a gift to the community.
Onion River Outdoors and Central Vermont Runners annual New Year's Eve 5K! 2:00 pm. Grab your friends and a pair of running shoes and come celebrate the end of 2023 with ORO & CVR at our annual New Year's Eve 5K! Pre-reg is open until midnight on Friday, December 29th. Race Day registration and bib pick up is at our new shop: 89 Main Street, from 12pm - 1:30pm on Dec. 31st.
