Fall in Love

It's easy to fall in love with Montpelier when you visit during foliage season. Cool misty mornings give way to crisp days filled with sunshine. Leaves burst with color and no matter where you look, you'll be struck by the natural beauty. Fill your day with hikes in Hubbard Park, take in the view from St. Augustine's Cemetery, or pop into our independent book stores and find a book to curl up with. Here are some of our fall favorites:

  • Stroll through town and enjoy the autumn leaves

  • Visit North Branch Nature Center

  • Attend the Taste of Montpelier Food Festival in September and enjoy a showcase of Montpelier and Vermont food and beverage.

  • Hay wagon rides bring groups of people deep into Hubbard Park where they are led by guides through candle-lit paths to stages of storytelling, music, fire, and enchantment as part of the annual Enchanted Forest Celebration each October.
